Tropical Storm Shadell, the 18th named storm this year, made its third landfall near Gulei in Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou, Fujian province, China at about 06:30 on the 3rd; maximum winds near the center were 23 m/s (Beaufort scale 9) and central pressure was 985 hPa.
