Counterpoint Research forecasts global smartphone shipments will decline 14.3% YoY in 2026, citing rising component costs, reduced supply of low‑price devices and weaker consumer purchasing power. Shipments are seen dropping a further 1.4% in 2027 before a projected recovery of about 4.8% in 2028.
