China Coast Guard spokesman Jiang Lue said on the morning of July 21 that, on humanitarian grounds, China allowed the Philippine side to transfer wounded by shipborne small boat from the grounded No.57 vessel at Ren'ai Reef to Philippine Coast Guard vessel 9702. The Coast Guard said it queried and verified the Philippine vessel and supervised the entire transfer, and will continue law-enforcement operations at Ren'ai Reef and adjacent waters to safeguard China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.
