SK Hynix is scouting U.S. sites to add memory-chip manufacturing capacity, SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won said, noting demand far exceeds supply and current prices are “abnormally” high. He said the company needs fabs not only in Gwangju and Jeolla but also in the U.S., and that construction would proceed only “if conditions permit,” with trade pressures and other factors to be weighed.
