The Congressional Budget Office's June 2026 Monthly Budget Review said the federal budget deficit for the first nine months of fiscal 2026 was about $1.4 trillion, up $35 billion from the same period a year earlier. Receipts totaled $4.2 trillion, rising $142 billion (4%); outlays were $5.5 trillion, up $178 billion (3%).
