A recording captured on a public marine radio channel and provided by a seafarer aboard a merchant vessel near the Strait of Hormuz shows Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) navy on the night of the 13th (local time) warned nearby ships not to transit the strait. The broadcast, addressed to all vessels in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, said the Strait of Hormuz was fully closed, warned any passage would be "decisively dealt with", and ordered all ships not to move in the strait until further notice.
