The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology issued a tsunami warning after a southern Philippines earthquake at about 07:37 local time on June 8. Waves are expected to be about 1m above normal tide; the first wave is forecast to arrive between 07:37 and 09:37 LT and the tsunami may persist for several hours.
