JP Morgan has reduced its bearish view on Tesla (TSLA.O) after appointing Rajat Gupta to replace long-time skeptic Ryan Brinkman as head of auto coverage. In a Friday note, Gupta raised JP Morgan’s price target on Tesla to $475 and upgraded the stock to neutral/hold. Brinkman, who had recommended sell on Tesla since 2015 and once predicted the share price could fall to $145 by year-end, had been one of Wall Street’s most pessimistic analysts. Gupta called Tesla’s vertical-integration model a "unique advantage" that he said remains, to some extent, underappreciated and misunderstood.
