Latvia’s parliament on the 28th approved a confidence vote for a new government, which was sworn in. United List leader Kurlbergs was appointed prime minister. The ruling coalition comprises United List, the National Alliance, New Unity and the Greens and Farmers Union. Defense minister is Army Colonel Raivis Meirnis, nominated by New Unity.
