China State Railway Group said the country’s rail network carried a total of 159 million passenger trips during the April 29–May 6 “May Day” holiday transport period, up 5.2% year on year. Freight volume on the national railway system reached 93.5 million tons, rising 4.5% from a year earlier, according to the company.
