Jasjeet Sekhon, Bridgewater Associates’ chief scientist and head of AI, will become chief strategy officer at Google-owned DeepMind, founder Demis Hassabis announced Wednesday. Sekhon, who joined Bridgewater in 2018 and helped build its AI research and investment lab, AIA Labs, will also join Bridgewater’s board after leaving his current roles. Alphabet’s DeepMind has been closing the gap with AI leaders OpenAI and Anthropic, as Google seeks to strengthen its position beyond traditional search dominance.
